THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) -

Thibodaux Police have arrested a man and a juvenile in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries.

Police say on June 25 around 3:30 a.m. they received a call about a group of males seen pulling at the door handles of cars in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The group later left after breaking into a blue Toyota Corolla and a gray Jeep. Nothing was reported stolen from those vehicles.

According to police, they were later spotted running in the area and officers began to chase them. Two of the males were taken into custody.

Police later identified one of the suspects as 18-year-old Landon Johnson. The name of the second suspect is being withheld because of his age.

Johnson and the juvenile were both initially charged with two counts of vehicle burglary. Johnson was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Through further investigation, police say they were able to tie both Johnson and the juvenile to 15 other vehicle burglaries over the past few weeks.

One of the cases involves a vehicle that was stolen and then later recovered by Thibodaux Police. Another case involves a gun that was stolen out of a Sheriff Deputy's vehicle.

In total, Johnson will be charged with 18 counts of vehicle burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, theft of a firearm and illegal possession of stolen things.

Johnson's bond has been set at $155, 250.

The investigation is ongoing.
