BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - After speaking to local media on Saturday, Gov. Bobby Jindal made his way to NBC, appearing on Meet The Press on Sunday.
Jindal was grilled about why Louisiana was the only state that has not issued same sex marriage licenses.
"Of course we're going to comply with the court order, we don't have a choice," said Jindal. "Our agencies will comply with the court order. We were in a situation where we had it in our state constitution that marriage is between a man and a woman, a local federal judge actually upheld that."
Jindal said that his views on marriage "aren't evolving" with the polls, and that his feelings on the topic are based on his faith.
Jindal says that the state will comply with the Supreme Court's decision within days after the Fifth Circuit of Appeals issues a ruling to reverse a 2004 amendment to Louisiana's constitution, saying that marriage is between "one man and one woman."
