BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
In 2014, as a true freshman, LSU running back Leonard Fournette ran for 1,034 yards and his rookie season has caught the attention of NFL scouts.
NFL.comdraft analyst Lance Zierlein ranks Fournette No. 6 on his list of "top running backs to watch in 2015."
Zierlein says, "Fournette barely scratched the surface of what he's capable of considering his rare combination of size, strength and speed. Reports from LSU indicate we should look for a lighter and quicker Fournette, which should benefit him as he must learn to be more creative and elusive within the first three yards of the line of scrimmage in order to maximize those special traits and hit more big plays. I'm expecting a big jump forward in 2015."
Joining Fournette from the SEC are running backs Nick Chubb (Georgia) and Jonathan Williams (Arkansas).
Fournette and the Tigers start the 2015 season against McNeese State on Saturday, Sept. 5 in Tiger Stadium.
