West Feliciana Parish Sheriff treats inmates at Angola Toy Shop to home cooked meal

WEST FELICIANA PARISH, LA (WAFB) - West Feliciana Parish Sheriff J. Austin Daniel treated some Angola inmates to a hot meal on Monday.

Once a year, Sheriff Daniel shows his appreciation to the inmates who work in the Angola Toy Shop by providing and serving them a home cooked meal.

This year's menu included barbeque chicken, baked beans, potato salad, a roll, peach cobbler and ice cream.

The inmates who work in the Angola Toy Shop donate refurbished bicycles and toys to the Sheriff's annual Kids Christmas program. Then the toys are distributed to children throughout the parish.

"Y'all do good work here and I just want to make sure you know that you put smiles on a lot of kids' faces," Sheriff Daniel told the prisoners. "They love getting these toys and bikes! What you're doing here is a good thing."
