BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man has been arrested and charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder.
On Wednesday, June 17, around 3 p.m., police say 28-year-old Fredrick Deman Brown drove up to a home in the 5100 block of Bank Street and pointed a gun out of the driver window of the vehicle and fired several rounds.
Police reports say the house and a vehicle were hit with bullets.
The affidavit of probable cause says an anonymous person submitted a tip saying Brown was driving a silver BMW on Sumrall Dr. on Saturday, June 20. The reports say Brown tried to evade police, but was eventually taken into custody.
Brown denied being involved in the shooting on June 17.
After Brown was taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for booking, officers found marijuana, pills and cocaine in a plastic baggie during a cavity search.
Brown was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property and contraband in a penal institution. He is being held on a $57,500 bond.
