BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU's Ag-Center Botanic Gardens played host to the annual Garden Fest on Saturday.
Despite the heat, people came out to enjoy free samples of gourmet local dishes. All recipes were prepared by the Louisiana Culinary Institute and the Egg Commission. The recipes themselves, however, were the ideas of Ag-Center students.
"All of the vegetables that we have came from here," says Director of the Louisiana Culinary Institute David Tiner, "We came up with different dishes from vegetable tureens to using a quinoa salad to a crostini, even a watermelon drink."
In addition to all the food, Garden Fest also had several family friendly activities like watersides and hayrides.
