WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - During an early morning traffic stop on Interstate 10, West Baton Rouge deputies seized 15 lbs. of cocaine.
It was around 4 a.m. Thursday when the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Criminal Patrol Division stopped a 2011 Nissan Juke for a traffic violation.
After an investigation of the vehicle and a K-9 alert, deputies found about 15 lbs. of cocaine in an aftermarket compartment that was built into the floor of the vehicle.
Deputies say 33-year-old Ken Veal and 28-year-old Antonio Walker, both of Atlanta, GA, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine in excess of 400 grams. Both were booked into the WBR Detention Center.
The street value of the cocaine seized is approximately $500,000.
Walker's bond has been set at $275,000. Veal's bond has been set at $250,000.
