LSU lands a top safety out of Texas

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU now has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country thanks to the commitment of another highly touted prospect out of Texas.

Eric Monroe, a top safety out of Houston TX, committed to LSU on Wednesday.
The 6'0, 180 pound defensive back is rated a 4-star prospect by Rivals and 247Sports. 
Monroe picked LSU over Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas and a host of other top colleges.

Monroe joins two other recruits out of Texas that gave their verbal commitment to the Tigers this week.

Rahssan Thornton verbally committed to LSU on Tuesday. 
The 6'4, 220 pound defensive end/linebacker from Killeen, TX, is rated a 3-star prospect by 247Sports. 
He picked LSU over Texas, Michigan, Oklahoma, TCU and more.

Erick Fowler committed to the Tigers on Sunday. 
Fowler, a Manor, TX native, is rated a 4-star prospect by 247Sports and Rivals.
The defensive end/linebacker picked LSU over Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Texas A&M, UCLA, Oklahoma, Baylor, Michigan, TCU and many more.
