BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Area Foundation says they are upset with a part of the budget legislators cut exactly a week ago.
BRAF says the budget only calls for $13 million for a project to restore the LSU Lakes. That's less than a third of what they initially requested.
Organizers of the project say they're thankful to get some money from the state, but it's only enough for a small part of what was originally planned.
"The money is enough to pay for dredging but not for the amenities and other things that were asked for by the people in the community in the master plan," said Mukul Verma, BRAF's Director of Communications.
BRAF says they'll now begin looking for other ways to help fund the Lakes project.
