UNDATED - With Father's Day approaching, a study was done to determine the best states for working dads and Louisiana ranked near the bottom of the list.
WalletHub said it conducted an in-depth analysis on the best and worst states for working dads and found Louisiana to be No. 47 out of 51. The study looked at all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Minnesota was at the top of the list, while Mississippi ranked last. West Virginia, Arkansas and Nevada also ranked below Louisiana.
Some of the 20 key stats used to reach the results included median income for families (dad present) with kids younger than 18 adjusted for cost of living, unemployment rate for dads with kids younger than 18 and mortality rate due to heart disease.
The study found Louisiana has the lowest child care costs adjusted median income for families (dad present), but has one of the lowest men's life expectancy at birth (No. 49 out of 51). The state also ranked No. 48 for highest average hours worked per day among men.
