BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Now that the 2015 legislative session is over, one Baton Rouge representative held an annual event to honor America.
Rep. Regina Barrow held her 10th annual Flag Day celbration in downtown Baton Rouge on Sunday. For the first time, tyhe event started with a parade to the USS Kidd. General Russel Honore served as the grand marshall.
Barrow says that this is a great way to honor the Stars and Stripes because "Our soldiers risk their lives in protecting the flag." says Barrow. "It represents who we are, so a part of this is definitely to give significance to the purpose of the flag, but also to honor our men and women.
Following the parade, the official ceremony was held at the USS Kidd Museum.
