Raceland woman arrested after saying victim's clothes on the bayou side

THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - A woman was arrested for taking another woman's clothes and shoes from her house and leaving them out in public for the victim to find, according to Thibodaux Police.

22-year-old Jessica Thomas of Raceland allegedly went to the victim's home in the 1000 block of Harrison Street sometime during the day Wednesday to fight the victim, but she wasn't home. Someone then entered the victim's home and took over $2,500 in clothes and shoes.

Police say the victim received a text message from Thomas saying she could find all of her clothes on the bayou side. Thomas denied ever going into the victim's home.

Thomas was arrested and charged with principal to simple burglary. She was booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
