TCU brings deep pitching staff to the College World Series

OMAHA, NE (WAFB) - TCU beat Texas A&M in a thrilling 5-4, 16-inning game to advance to its second straight College World Series.

The Horned Frogs are 49-13 this season, 18-5 in conference play and 31-8 in non-conference games. The team won 18 of its last 19 regular season games.

TCU has a team ERA of 2.39 and a very deep pitching staff.

Starting Pitchers:
Mitchell Traver (SO/RHP): 9-2 record, 1.60 ERA and 73 strikeouts
Alex Young (JR/LHP): 9-2 record, 2.31 ERA and 91 strikeouts  
Preston Morrison (SR/RHP): 11-3 record, 2.55 ERA and 86 strikeouts
Tyler Alexander (SO/LHP): 6-2 record, 2.86 ERA and 69 strikeouts   

Relief Pitchers:
Trey Teakell (SR/RHP): 2-1 record, 1 save,  1.51 ERA and 44 strikeouts 
Riley Ferrell (JR/RHP): 1-3 record, 14 saves, 2.83 ERA and 45 strikeouts

The team has a. 289 batting average this season and is led by a talented outfield.

TCU's leading hitters:
Cody Jones (SR/OF) is hitting .371 with 14 doubles, 5 home runs, 33 RBI and 31 stolen bases.
Connor Wanhanen (FR/OF) is hitting .320 with 37 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
Nolan Brown (JR/OF) is batting .314 with 11 doubles and 30 RBI.

LSU (53-10) will play TCU (49-13) on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the College World Series.

If LSU wins, the Tigers will play Tuesday at 7 p.m. If the Horned Frogs beat LSU, the Tigers will take the field Tuesday at 2 p.m.
