DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) -

A man was arrested in connection with a shooting investigators described as "domestic" that sent the victim to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office reported Thomas Logan, 64, of Denham Springs, is charged with attempted second-degree murder. His bond was set at $75,000.

The victim's name was not released. Deputies said he is in his 30s. They added he was shot once in the chest and was last listed in serious condition.

Authorities said the shooting happened at a home on Violet Circle North, where both men live, around 3 p.m. It is near Range Avenue (LA 16) and Lockhart Road (LA 1026).

Deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office are investigating a shooting that happened in the 31000 block of Violet Circle North in Denham Springs Thursday afternoon.

"It appears this shooting is domestic in nature," Sheriff Jason Ard said in a written release. "We've learned that Logan is an acquaintance of the victim's mother. There appears to have been an argument between the suspect and the victim."

The investigation is ongoing.
