BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Get ready to sweat, but not because it's getting hotter outside. Next week offers a unique opportunity to experience some of the area's best workouts free of charge.

The BR Fitness Crawl runs from Monday, June 15 through Monday, June 22.

Instructor Daurie Adcock did not hold back as she recently led a class of women through a trendy fitness class called iBike at Tread BR.

"It is a computer-based program, so we involve the computer. We also have a monitor on the bike that shows you exactly how fast you're going, what gear you're at, and we can actually team up as a group and ride against each other," explained Adcock.

The high-intensity workout is just one of at least 18 available for free during the second-annual event, and Adcock said it's perfect for any fitness level.

"If you've ever watched The Biggest Loser or any of those type shows, they put people on bikes specifically because they're joint-friendly," said Adcock. "So you can be any fitness level, any age, you're not pounding on your joints, and you have a gear to press, so it's up to you."

Crossfit, Pilates, aerial yoga, pole fitness, paddle boarding and other classes are all available during this year's bigger and better crawl.

"The idea was to have four or five gym studios to participate, and then last year it grew to ten," said organizer Maryam Diaab. "We had a really great response with the community, and other gyms and studios wanted to be involved. So this year we have 18, and we also have a food component as well."

Fresh Kitchen, Modern Meals, The Big Squeezy, Crispy Catch and The Salad Shoppe will offer special tastings and discounts to crawl participants.

Diaab, owner of OpenBarre, said it's all about finding what works for you and then making the commitment to a healthier lifestyle.

"People who do usually work out, we want them to try some different things," said Diaab. "And people who don't work out or have been afraid or who have been unable to find something that really fits their lifestyle, we want to them to come and try all the different, awesome studios and gyms we have around Baton Rouge."

Participants have to be first-time clients, and classes are first come-first served. Online registration is available here.

The following gyms and studios will offer free or donation-only classes: OpenBarre, Studio 7, Tread BR, GymFit, Geaux Crossfit, Yoglates II, Define, Yoga Bliss, Red Stick Cross Fit, Ripple Effect Fitness, UFC Acadian, Fleur De Leaf Dance Studio, Happy's Running Club, Muddy Water Paddle Boards, Family Fit Athletics, Teaze Fitness, Pure Barre, and Pilates Plus
