Sheriff: Armed robbery suspects who bound victims turn themselves in

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Detectives say two men accused of robbing two women at the Hampton Inn & Suites located on Reiger Road Tuesday morning have turned themselves in.

Tips from the community came in through Crime Stoppers, identifying the suspects. Deputies contacted 39-year-old Herman Leroy Hills Jr. and 18-year-old Kianta Cardelle Edwards about the armed robbery and they turned themselves in to officials.

According to reports, two men armed with pistols knocked on the door of a hotel room occupied by two women.

Police say after the women opened the door, the men came in with the guns and searched the room taking cash, cell phones and tablets belonging to both of the victim's.

The men bound both women's hands and feet before leaving in a pickup truck.

"This incident is under investigation, but detectives believe the woman made arrangements to have the men meet them at the hotel, at which time they were robbed," said Casey Rayborn Hicks with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office.

Both Hill and Edwards were charged with armed robbery. No bond has been set for either of them at this time.
