BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Investigators are looking for an arsonist after it was determined a house was intentionally set on fire Tuesday evening.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported the fire happened on Davenport Avenue, which is just south of BREC Greenwood Community Park, just before 6 p.m.
Curt Monte with BRFD said the back of the home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene.
He added firemen were able to keep the flames from spreading beyond the back of the home and part of the attic. However, the rest of the home had heavy smoke damage.
No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was called in to assist the homeowner.
