BAKER, LA (WAFB) - People lined up to receive free legal advice at a Baker library on Saturday.
The "Ask A Lawyer" event, which took place at the Baker Branch Library on Groom Road, was organized by the Pro Bono Project of the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
A representative of the Rowe Law Firm was there giving advice to anyone who asked in the form of 15-minute, one-on-one sessions.
"There are a lot of people in the public that don't have access to a lawyer, or can't afford to go see a lawyer," says attorney Jeff Wittenbrink. "So, they come and have general legal problems, and we answer their questions and try to help them figure out what they need to do to get their problem resolved."
Wittenbrink was supposed to only be at the event for two hours, but because there were so many people needing advice, he stayed for an additional 90 minutes.
