BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge businesses plan to make a major profit as thousands plan to pack Alex Box Stadium for this weekend's baseball Super Regional.

The LSU Tigers and the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns will face off in the Baton Rouge Super Regional. Whoever wins the best-of-three series gets to go to the College World Series. Some predict record setting attendance and that is why local businesses are excited.

Gabrielle Chabert is a manager at Marty J's Restaurant on Nicholson Dr. Chabert said the restaurant strategically opened its second location this coming weekend because big crowds means big business.

"With a prediction of 25,000 to 40,000 people coming to LSU this weekend we decided to go for it and open this Thursday," said Chabert.

Emily Onnebane, who is the general manager of Breck's Bistro Restaurant next to Walk-Ons, said she has a game plan to make sure business will hit a grand slam.

"We are preparing to have a select menu with some of our favorites to get fans out to the game and to cheer on our Tigers and hopefully to come out on top," said Onnebane.

The first game of the best-of-three series starts Saturday at 7 p.m. It will be televised on ESPN 2.

The first pitch for Sunday's game will be thrown at either 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPNU or ESPN2.

The schedule for Monday's game, if necessary, will be decided later.
