BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A former ATC worker was arrested Thursday for stealing thousands of dollars while working for the state agency.
An arrest warrant states 32-year-old Lindy Tullier is accused of swiping $3,400 in alcohol and tobacco control fines several times since September 2014 until November 2014.
Investigators say she created bogus receipts to give to people who paid her cash fines that she would allegedly keep herself. She admitted to taking anywhere from $200 to $500 in fines from 10 people. Records show that she also voided fees from the ATC system even though they had been paid to her.
Tullier was booked Thursday and charged with 10 counts of felony theft, nine counts of injuring public record and one count of malfeasance in office. She was released Friday on a $14,500 bond.
Tullier confessed to the theft while she was previous arrested on other theft charges in November 2014.
