BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A food truck was destroyed in a fire Thursday afternoon after a charcoal grill was misused.
According to a report, the Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a fire in the Earl's Express food truck at the 5600 block of Plank Road just before 1 p.m. The vehicle was found engulfed in flames.
Fire fighters were able to get the fire under control 10 minutes after arriving and extinguished it before the fire could spread.
"Although this was a mobile food truck it falls under the same restrictions as would a restaurant. It is not recommended nor is it legal to burn a charcoal grill indoors," said BRFD spokesperson Curt Monte in the report.
There were no injuries reported.
