Outlook

The Bears are coming off 3 consecutive District Championship seasons. We are hard at work to try to win another District Title and make a great run in the Play-Offs. We welcome new Defensive Coordinator Matthew Burmaster to our staff. Once again the Offense will be in the capable hands of Offensive Coordinator Gabe Fertitta. The Special Teams Coordinator is Eric Held.

A big boost to the Bears' Offense is the return of starting Quarterback Ian Brian. Offensive lineman Lawrence Hamilton leads the offensive front. Other veteran starters in the offensive line are Center Brett Fontaine and Tackle Evan Fontenot. The running game is led by versatile running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Parker Sulik returns as a starting receiver, while ben Miles started a year ago as the H-Back.

The defense is led by senior Linebackers Brandon Fairbanks and Chase Priest. Both of these defenders have great experience. The Bears return both starting Cornerbacks in Seniors Connor Bowen and Brian Herry. Returning as the starter at nose guard is another senior, K.J. Wilson.

The Bears will have a new Place-Kicker in the fall. The top two candidates for that position are Parker Fontenot and Daniel Guilbeau. Guilbeau heads into the fall as the Punter.

Once again, Catholic High will feature one of the most competitive schedules in the state. Besides the difficult district slate, the Bears will face power house programs such as Parkview, Zachary, Sam Houston, St. Thomas More, and Tuerlings Catholic during the non-district portion of the slate.
