LSU smashes USC for NCAA Men's Golf Championship

BRADENTON, FL (WAFB) - Chuck Winstead and his LSU Men's Golf team knocked on the door last year losing to Alabama in the semifinals, but the 2015 Tigers knocked the door down Wednesday, routing USC 4-1 to win the NCAA Championship.

Zach Wright led his four teammates to victory in Bradenton, Florida, winning his match three and two. Senior Ben Taylor, sophomore Eric Ricard and Brandon Pierce also won their matches over the Trojans.

It's the fifth NCAA Championship in school history. It's the first title for the Tigers in 60 years, with the last coming in 1955.

Taylor drained a par putt at No. 18 to defeat Bobby Gojuangco 1-up to win the National Championship.
