BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Most people have never seen Tiger Stadium without grass, but the stadium is currently being resodded for the upcoming football season.
The grass in Tiger Stadium is replaced every year after Bayou Country Superfest. Most stadiums would be resodded every five years or so, but the wear and tear of the festival requires the field to be redone annually.
Since 2010, Tiger Stadium's field has been covered in celebration Bermuda grass. The grass is grown locally across the Mississippi River. They harvest it in May and plant the grass so it can take root before the upcoming football.
