FRANKLIN, LA (WAFB) -

Deputies said a Bishop accused of trying to have sex with a teen boy was released from jail after posting bond.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported Jules Anderson Jr., 56, of Franklin, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for attempted indecent behavior with a juvenile. He posted a $15,000 bond.

News outlets in Lafayette confirm Anderson ministers at Israelite Divine Spiritual Church of Christ II in Four Corners, La.

Authorities said a deputy saw a suspicious vehicle parked in a sugarcane field on LA 87 in Franklin on May 15 and decided to investigate.

He reported Anderson and a 16-year-old boy in the vehicle. SMPSO stated the detective later learned Anderson had convinced the teen to go with him for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts.

The detective then obtained a warrant for Anderson's arrest.
