Another charge has been filed against a teen accused of accidentally shooting another teen in the chest and her bond has been set.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Prison reported Mekiyah Davis, 17, of Baton Rouge, is also charged with illegal use of a weapon. She was initially booked on charges of negligent injury and obstruction of justice. Bond for the weapon charge is set at $3,500 and $1,000 for the negligent injury. She was still in jail as of Thursday morning.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said Davis was arrested Tuesday night after an 18-year-old was shot in the chest. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not provided an update on his condition.

Davis was charged with obstruction for allegedly sending a text message to a witness telling the person to change clothes. Investigators said the witness was in the room when the shooting happened, but fled the scene. They added the witness was later located and told police Davis was playing with a gun when it went off.
