BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A legislator wants college students taking a survey that asks questions about sexual assault on campus.
The annual survey would be voluntary and anonymous.
It would ask college students questions about their experiences, attitudes and awareness of issues related to campus sexual assault. The results would be posted online.
"This will be an instance in which we will lead the country in how we address campus sexual assault, and it's very rare that we have the opportunity to really be at the forefront," said Sen. JP Morrell, D-New Orleans.
The bill passed the House Education Committee Wednesday without objection. It now goes to the full House for debate.
