GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a convicted sex offender who failed to register and is wanted on other unrelated charges.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported Dustin Sanders, 28, is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender, home invasion and theft.
Sheriff Jeff Wiley said the last time Sanders checked in with the sex offender division of APSO to update his work registration, he told detectives he lived on Lambert Road in Gonzales. However, when a compliance check was done at the home on May 11, deputies learned he had not lived at that address for about six months.
Investigators said they believe he may be living with family or friends in Tylertown, Mississippi. Sanders is 5'9" tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has blonde hair and hazel eyes. He also has a large tattoo on the right side of his neck.
He is also accused of a home invasion and theft in Gonzales that happened in April.
He was convicted in 2009 of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
