GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

Last Week, the Gonzales Police Department ran in an annual Special Olympics ceremony.

Led by motorcycle officers, Gonzales Police Corporal Randy Clouatre Jr., along with four other Gonzales Police Officers, ran the length of a 3.2 mile trail as part of the annual Special Olympics Torch Run.

"I am honored to be a part of an event like this that gives back to these wonderful kids," said Corporal Clouatre. "To see the smiles on their faces says it all. I come from a family that gives back to our community and that's how I was raised."

The run, which took place on Thursday, May 21, started at the Ascension Credit Union, and ended near the Arc of East Ascension.
