Severe weather leads to downed trees, power outages

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A strong line of thunderstorms moved through Louisiana and Mississippi early Tuesday morning, bringing with it rain, lightning and strong winds.

Two limbs of a tree fell onto a trailer home on Hooper Road near Joor Road in north East Baton Rouge Parish near Central. Entergy was called out because of live wires on the ground. No injuries were reported.

A tornado watch for the WAFB viewing area was canceled before 3:30 a.m., but a flash flood watch remained in effect until 8 a.m.

Thousands across the area are also without power due to the storms.

The weather in Louisiana and Texas could affect flights.
