48th annual Gonzales Jambalaya Festival plans events for Memorial Day Weekend

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The 48th annual Jambalaya Festival is underway in Gonzales.

Events planned for the Memorial Day weekend will crown champions in jambalaya cooking, as well as provide entertainment for those more acclimated to eating the southern delicacy. 

The Jambalaya contest's semi-final rounds set the stage for the stage for the Sunday finals, with the champion to be announced at 6:30 p.m.

The carnival, which provides family friendly rides, games, and attractions, will open at 11:00 a.m., and close at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Musical guests will play on three stages throughout the festival grounds, starting at 5:30 p.m., and ending at midnight. More information about the complete schedule of events and the scheduled bands, can be found at the festival's website HERE.
