BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - All Office of Motor Vehicles locations across Louisiana are operating as normal Friday after an electrical malfunction at the Louisiana State Police data center shut them down Thursday.
None of the automated systems at the Department of Public Safety, which included the motor vehicles offices, were able to function. All 84 OMV offices were down and unable to process transactions.
Meghan Parrish, communications director for the division of administration, said the issue was caused by an electrical malfunction in an uninterruptible power supply. The device was destroyed and had to be replaced.
