COVINGTON, LA (WAFB) - A teacher was arrested on drug and other charges after allegedly giving "special" brownies to two students.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reported Camille Brennan, 29, of New Orleans, was booked on two counts of distribution of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after turning herself in to authorities Thursday.
Investigators believe she gave brownies laced with marijuana to two girls at Archbishop Hannan High in Covington, where she was a teacher, on May 1. They added the parents of one of the alleged victims contacted school officials later that evening. The principal then contacted the sheriff's office and an investigation was started.
STPSO said Brennan resigned from the school during the course of the investigation. Detectives said she admitted to them that she gave the girls marijuana brownies.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be filed.
