BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A new campaign to honor and celebrate Louisiana's creative industry is set to launch Thursday.
It is headed up by Sian McArthur and Scott Niemeyer, producer of the Pitch Perfect movies. Industry supporters launched the campaign Wednesday night.
Actors, politicians, filmmakers and artists from the state attended the event. Many of them stressed the importance of the Louisiana film credits.
Many say the state can't be successful without those credits and that legislators have to do all they can to save them.
"I proved that you can be from here and make it big and that's the most important thing," said Sam Medina, an actor. "And, I think that it would help for all of our politicians to understand that - how important it is for the incentives to stay here and not getting rid of it over the years because it brings so many jobs here."
