PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) - A teacher accused of having sex with former students has been released on bond.
The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office reported Keavin Keith, 30, of Plaquemine, was set free after posting a $100,000 bond. A trial date has not been set.
Keith, who was a teacher of the year, was booked on two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, five counts of felony carnal knowledge and 30 counts of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student.
According to Stassi, one of Keith's former students reported Monday the two of them had a sexual relationship while she was still a student at MSA West High School, where he was a teacher. Keith was arrested later that night.
Stassi also stated the investigation revealed Keith was allegedly having sexual relations with two other students. The alleged victims are 15 and 16 years old.
Officials added Keith has no prior arrests. He has been a teacher in the parish school system for six years.
