BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police have released the name of a woman who was killed while attempting to cross Florida Boulevard Saturday night.
Police have identified the victim as 39-year-old Jannie Doiga of Walker, Louisiana.
According to police the crash occurred around 10:35 p.m. in the 7000 block of Florida Boulevard at the intersection of North Donmoor.
Police investigation revealed that Doiga was attempting to cross Florida Blvd. when she was hit by a 2013 GMC Yukon. She was then struck again by a second vehicle that was described as a gold or tan colored Range Rover.
The GMC Yukon remained at the scene and attempted to help the victim. The Range Rover fled the scene when police arrived.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor for Doiga.
Police are currently searching for the Range Rover and its driver.
