This week's “Your Turn” segment goes to Jane Honeycutt. Honeycutt sent us an email last week expressing concern about our news coverage. Specifically, she believes we're showing too much news about tragedies, and especially reporting on funerals.
In her words: Many Channel 9 viewers are more than a bit weary of your constant and unrelenting coverage of funerals and the grieving. These are not funerals of well-known public figures, but funerals of citizens whose misfortunes may have cast them into the news. There has been an acceleration of this unfortunate policy in the last year or two. Please find something for your reporters to do in place of thrusting microphones into the faces of those who are grieving because a child or other relative has been murdered or killed in a tragic accident.
That's Jane Honeycutt's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, visit us on Facebook or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
