BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The NCAA has lifted its "unusable data" ban for the Southern University Athletic Department, according to interim athletic director Roman Banks.
Banks addressed told the Southern University Board of Supervisors on Friday that better record keeping contributed to the ban getting lifted by the NCAA.
Southern athletic teams will now be able to play in postseason NCAA games.
While it's a big victory for the athletic department, Banks, who is also the men's head basketball coach, said there is still more to accomplish.
"We still have a chance to correct some of our old data that was presented to raise those scores, so we're looking forward to going ahead as it relates to correcting the portal with our APR scores and be presented a chance for our teams to play in postseason play," Banks explained.
The ban was implemented in December of 2013.
