BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Detectives have identified one of the suspects who used counterfeit money at the Circle K on Siegen Lane in April.
20-year-old Tyrone Clark was arrested Wednesday by the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office as a fugitive from EBRSO. He is charged with monetary instrument abuse.
According to reports, a man entered the store on Monday, April 13 around 11:30 a.m. and bought a $300 money order. The suspect used three counterfeit $100 bills to buy the money order. Around 12:30 p.m. a second man later identified as Clark came to the store and also bought a $300 money order. He also used three counterfeit $100 bills for the item.
Detectives say all six counterfeit $100 bills lacked the security features the real money would have, contained the same serial number and appeared to have been printed on the same paper.
The first suspect is a black man with short braided hair wearing a red and white striped shirt and dark colored pants. EBRSO is still searching for the suspect.
Anyone with information on the other suspect's identities or the incident is asked to call EBRSO at (225) 389-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
