BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Baton Rouge movie producer is looking at serious jail time and fines for film tax credit fraud.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says 43-year-old George Kostuch of K2 Pictures pleaded guilty to wire fraud Tuesday.

Prosecutors say he filed fake claims to bilk the state out of $161,850 in tax credits.

“Louisiana's film tax credit program cannot function as intended when people are constantly defrauding it," said Louisiana Inspector General Stephen Street. "We are continuing to do everything we can to make sure there are criminal consequences when that happens, and today's guilty plea is the latest example of that.”

The FBI and the Louisiana State Inspector General's Office conducted the investigation into Kostuch.
