BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

At the Capitol Monday, Representative Austin Badon detailed his bill to change some of the wording in discrimination laws.

If passed, House Bill 612 will add wording that would prohibit discrimination for sexual orientation and gender identity. It also adds language to prohibit age, sex or disability discrimination.

"When you open up the doors to Louisiana and you make it, you make it friendly for people to come here, more people come, they buy goods and items, they buy cars, they buy homes, your sales tax goes up, your income tax goes up so you know we need all of the revenue to be able to provide services for our people," said Rep. Austin Badon (D) New Orleans.

Representative Badon hopes to have the bill up for discussion early next week.
