Victim identified in deadly shooting on E. Grant St. in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead in Baton Rouge early Monday morning.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported it happened on East Grant Street at Thomas H. Delpit Drive just before 4 a.m.

Authorities said officers were called out to a shooting victim lying in the middle of the road. They added the preliminary investigation indicates he was shot in the head.

The victim, 20-year-old Cameron Matthews, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say there are no suspects or motives yet.
