Lawmakers looking to cap Louisiana film tax

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Lawmakers looking to fill the state deficit are also trying to cap film tax credits as the 2015 session continues.

The author of one of those bills, New Orleans senator J.P. Morell, says his focus is preventing fraud and increasing the return on investment. Morrell also wants to make it easier to track the sale and purchase of the tax credits.

The president of the Louisiana Film and Entertainment association says that putting any cap on the tax credit, could be catastrophic to Hollywood south.
