BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Sherwin Williams teamed up with The Walls Project to help paint the future Mid City location of their new program, The Futures Fund.
The Futures Fund is a new program designed to create digital, literary, visual, and performing arts-based entrepreneurial opportunities for youth in North BR and Mid City. Saturday's project took place on National Painting Week. Organizers thought this would be the perfect opportunity to paint the walls of the Mid City warehouse.
"We want to make sure that the students around town know how to understand culture and art," says Sherwin Williams representative Miranda Tanner. "The main focus of the Futures Fund is to make sure that 14 to 18-year-olds understand the importance of not only what art is but also how to pursue a professional career in the arts."
Sherwin Williams donated 40 gallons of paint to make the project possible.
