ST. MARY PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A St. Mary Parish teacher is accused of instructing a student to punch a classmate.
The sheriff's office says 34-year-old Randy Louis restrained the 9-year-old boy while telling another student to hit the child.
Deputies say this happened on April 17 at the St. Mary Parish Alternative Program school. They investigated the event after receiving a complaint that same day about possible battering involving a juvenile.
A warrant was issued for Louis on charges of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles for telling one student to hit another and simple battery for restraining the victim.
Louis turned himself into deputies Friday afternoon. He was booked into the parish jail. Bond was set at $1,500.
