BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - One of the greatest athletes to ever come out of Louisiana was honored at the State Capitol.
On the Senate floor, legislators took a moment to recognize Tuesday as "Alvin Dark Day at the Capitol."
Dark died in November, but his family was in attendance as part of the recognition.
The Lake Charles native and two-sport star at LSU reached the Major League World Series five times as a player and then manager.
Dark was also a World War 2 veteran, serving in the Pacific.
