BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Thibodaux police have arrested a convicted felon after a gun was found in his possession while trying to get into a night club.
Police say just after 1:30 a.m. Monday, the suspect who is identified as 20-year-old Dyrion Patterson, attempted to enter a club in the 1300 block of St. Charles Street. Bar security patted down Patterson at the door of the club and then called over police officers, who were there working detail, after they felt what they believed to be a gun.
Patterson admitted to police that he had a gun on him. Police then recovered a gun and a bag of marijuana from Patterson and placed him under arrest.
Patterson was charged with illegal carrying of weapon in the presence of CDS, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm on an premises of alcoholic beverage outlet and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
Patterson was released from the Lafourche Parish Detention Center after posting $32,500 bond.
