BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Former LSU Tiger Kenny Hillard was drafted by the Houston Texans with the 18th pick of the seventh round.
The 6-foot, 226-pound running back is the 235th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. He tied for No. 8 in LSU history in career rushing touchdowns with 27 and had a total of 1,547 rushing yards in his college career.
Hillard started six games and finished third for LSU in rushing yards in 2014. In 2013, He finished third for the Tigers in rushing touchdowns.
In 2011, he made the SEC All Freshman Team as part of the Tigers' SEC Championship team. He was tied with Spencer Ware for the team lead in offensive touchdowns with nine that same year.
Hillard had four 100-yard rushing games at LSU, including a career-best 141 yards in the 2012 win over North Texas. He is the nephew of former LSU and New Orleans Saints great Dalton Hilliard.
Hilliard went to Patterson High School and was a Warrick Dunn Award finalist in 2010 with fell LSU players La'el Collins and Terrence Magee, who was the award winner.
