Man arrested on attempted murder charge after teen stabbed in face with screwdriver

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

A 17-year-old male from Holden, La. is recovering from injuries he received after he was stabbed multiple times in the face and eye area with what is believed to be a screwdriver, according to deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened on April 23, 2015 at a house in Holden, La. During the investigation following the stabbing, a man called "Dragon" with facial tattoos was identified as the suspect.

"Dragon's" real name is Lawrence 'Larry' Bottoms. He is 25-years-old and is from Greenwell Springs. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Bottoms was arrested in East Baton Rouge Parish on April 28, 2015. Deputies with Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office located Bottoms at his house. 

According to the probable cause affidavit from EBRSO, Bottoms' parents told deputies he would come out peacefully. He did not come out immediately and deputies surrounded the home.

A woman, identified as 35-year-old Lisa Tillman, came out of the house. She told deputies Bottoms was in his bedroom eating. 

When Bottoms came out of the house, he surrendered to deputies. 

Tillman told deputies Bottoms put some of his bags in her vehicle, and she had only known him for about a week. 

Deputies found several scales and small bags, a Kevlar throat protector and two firearms with no serial numbers on them. Tillman told deputies she did not know why the items were in her vehicle.

When deputies asked Bottoms about the items found in the vehicle, he stated, "Man, I don't know nothing about nothing."

Bottoms was charged with felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of body armor and possession of drug paraphernalia from EBRSO. He also faces a charge of attempted second degree murder from Livingston Parish. No bond has been set at this time.

The victim was in critical condition after he was stabbed by the screwdriver. He is now in stable condition.

The motive for the stabbing is unclear. 

Tillman was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of body armor, possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held on an $11,000 bond.
