BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - New details are being released about a first of its kind operation that led to the rescue of six exploited children.
The children were rescued in Texas earlier this month after a three day operation. Louisiana state police say the operation started with a training session they hosted at the beginning of the year.
Police representatives say that multiple agencies from several states were then able to use training they got from the training session in Louisiana.
"Not only did we rescue six endangered children, but several other investigations were started because of this," says J.B. Slanton of Louisiana State Police. "The partnership will allow those cases to expand and bring those to justice that really do harm to the children and exploit children for sexual purposes."
Louisiana State Police also says in addition to the partnerships created through the multi-state operation, officers were able to learn better ways to identify the signs of at-risk children.
